Conferences may seem a dime a dozen today, and if you are an individual in the AdTech industry, you are inundated with a multitude of events that can pretty much make your head spin. Attending them all is not an option and not attending some can be detrimental to the future and health of your company. One would need an adept eye to pick out just the right one for you.
Whether you are a startup on the brink or an established company, you need to attend events. They are a great way to meet others in the industry working towards the same goal as your own. It’s a great way to see the industry from another set of eyes as well as network with like-minded individuals who can help achieve your goals.
Not all events are created equal. It’s best to investigate them thoroughly so you don’t waste your time and money, as some can be quite expensive while others are just not worth the trip. Thankfully, you are saved from the hard work, because we have gone ahead and done the research for you.
Here is a list of the AdTech events not to be missed in the second half of 2018.
DMEXCO – September 12 -13, 2018 Cologne, Germany
DMEXCO is the meeting place for key players in the digital business, marketing and innovation. There are fantastic discussions such as What Makes a Successful Digital Leader and The Art of Digital Advertising. The conference also features hands-on showcases that include experiencing cutting-edge technologies like AR, VR, AI or IoT.
With a city such as Cologne, the sites alone would keep you busy. Be sure to take in the Gothic Cathedrals and the famous museums, such as the Ludwig, while you are there enriching your mind.
Digiday Publishing Summit – September 24 – 26th, 2018 Biscayne, Florida
Digiday Publishing Summit is the premier event that showcases and presents new ways to drive consumer revenue, the impact of GDPR on publishers’ programmatic business, platform strategy and much more. With panels on topics such as Life After Facebook and The Keys to Going Over the Top in Video from veteran companies such as the Atlantic, Forbes, ESPN and more you will learn a tremendous amount about your industry and where it is headed in the near future.|
Having an event take place in Florida, you have to have known that there would be a beachy feel to it all, and Digiday does not disappoint. With offers of yoga sessions and beach volleyball games you won’t want to miss sand and of course, palm trees.

Ad:tech London has long been the UK’s global gathering of marketing and advertising technology players, but things just got a lot more exciting. ad:tech has joined forces with the Technology for Marketing and eCommerce Expo, forming one of the most significant destination events anywhere in the United Kingdom. Speakers from VICE, PWC and Fluency will be in attendance as well as case studies and topics that range from how technology is changing the shape of advertising and how you can leverage our digital economy to drive sales.
A little bit bigger, better and bolder- this event will dazzle you. If not there is always Buckingham Palace and the crown jewels to help you sparkle and shine. Take a trip on the London Eye, and east some fish and chips like a good old chap.

The next ad:tech event takes place in October in Tokyo.
Tokyo – October 4 – 5, 2018 Tokyo Japan
Ad:tech Tokyo is the largest global marketing conference in Asia where 15,000 attendees gather from over 30 countries around the globe. It will offer 52 sessions in 8 different categories. You will mingle with some of the most influential marketers in the Asian industry. Speakers include those from Nestle, KDME and many more.
The events consist of panels, pitch contests, and discussions on data-driven marketing strategies. Even a delicious segment on forbidden conversations between platformers. Oooh, what fun! You can promote your business and create brand awareness all in one place!

Advertising Week – October 1- 4, 2018 New York, NY
Advertising Week is the world’s premier annual gathering of marketing and communications leaders from companies such as GE, Citi, UNICEF, and NPR, to name a few. The event includes a women-centric women’s lounge with panels and discussions geared towards powerful female roles in the industry and those leading it. There are also less focused panels around topics such as mobile advertising data and the future of marketing.
New York is unique anytime you go, but autumn in New York near the Metropolitan Opera house where you can observe Juilliard graduates perform beautiful ballets and watch the famous fountain dance in waves and lights at night, nothing can compare. You don’t want to miss out on this.
Folio:Show – October 9 – 12, 2018 New York, NY
The Folio: Show is a fantastic community of media pros, partners, and industry experts that throughout a two-day event boasts community mixers, one on one meetings and organized networking events that helps you to ‘Power Up Your Publishing.’
The media world is changing fast, and the best way to keep up is to get educated.
