In our latest employee feature, get to know PowerInbox’s Senior Quality Assurance Analyst – Aaron Crocco!
He’s been with us for about a year and originally studied creative writing in college, with a minor in computer science. He has lived in New York his entire life, but he’s called Long Island his home the longest. As Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, Aaron ensures all projects and changes that PowerInbox delivers are free from issues and perform as intended. His goal is to break things and to anticipate unforeseen ways customers may interact with our products so we can provide a high level of quality.
Let’s get to know Aaron a little more…
1. What do you love most about your role at PowerInbox?
Everyone is willing to help and answer questions any time I need insight. There is a large recognition for QA and its importance in the development and delivery of features. The appreciation for the work I do is reciprocated because I see how much everyone wants to do their best.
2. What advice do you have for someone also interested in that type of position?
Always think outside the box because people will surprise you in how they approach or interact with something new to them. It’s easy to miss the obvious.
3. What are the top 5 tools you can’t live without?
- Music (or my Sonos app)
- Notes or OneNote
4. What is the coolest aspect about your job?
Being able to work from anywhere. Having a remote-based job has given me flexibility that I have a great appreciation for.
5. How do you manage work/life balance?
I make sure to keep work stuff handled during work time. I prioritize my children and personal wellbeing over everything else.
6. What is your favorite PowerInbox memory?
The first time I worked from a coffee shop was amazing. It felt great to open my MacBook and start the day with everything I needed, but with a great change of scenery from my desk at home.
7. What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy playing video games, cooking, and writing books & short stories.
8. What’s the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?
Play with my PlayStation PSVR. It’s a ton of fun to immerse myself in a virtual reality environment, but you also have to acknowledge how silly you can look to those around you.
9. What’s your hidden talent?
I can stop hiccuping in less than 10 seconds. It’s a technique I’ve shown others how to do and it works for them too.
10. What’s your biggest accomplishment from your time at PowerInbox?
Successfully transitioning to a fully-remote job. I’d never worked remotely before and I’m proud of how well I’ve managed to adjust and thrive in this environment.
We hope you enjoyed learning more about the people who power PowerInbox!
