This month, Google unveiled its latest effort to claw back more credibility in the news publishing world, launching the Google News Showcase. It would collectively pay some $1 billion to news publishers in licensing fees “to create and curate high-quality content” for new story panels that will appear on Google News.
PowerInbox continued its 3-part roundtable series with the second installment, “Post Cookies“. In it, PowerInbox’s CEO, Jeff Kupietzky, got together with other industry leaders to discuss strategies for ending reliance on third-party data and how to implement creative audience engagement tactics. In Cambodia, Magawa – the African giant pouched rat – has won a PDSA Gold Medal for his work detecting landmines. He has sniffed out 39 landmines and 28 unexploded munitions in his career! A big thank you to Magawa and other rats like him!
This dad is putting all other dads to shame… I almost don’t want to share it as it might give people “unrealistic dad standards”, but it’s too sweet not to share! He reminds me of a famous quote: “any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad”.
One of the most heartwarming things I’ve seen in a long time is this sweet, wonderful man stopping his car along the highway to help a thirsty armadillo! What a mensch!
We might all be going a bit stir-crazy, and that includes our pets as well! Let’s not forget about them…
On October 6, 2020 we all got to find out who won Katmai National Park’s Fat Bear Week Championship. It was down to two finalists: The Earl of Avoirdupois (#747) vs. Chunk (#32). In the end, the Earl took home the trophy! Congrats!
