With hundreds of thousands of members spanning 75 countries, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) represents the largest aviation community in the world.
Although they have grown significantly since they were first incorporated in 1939, their mission to protect the freedom to fly while keeping general aviation safe hasn’t changed since.
What has changed, though, is the way they reach and communicate with their members. In addition to print magazines, AOPA is now supported by a variety of channels including Internet TV shows, social channels, a mobile app, and, of course, email newsletters.
In fact, email newsletters account for a significant portion of their outreach and monetization tactics, with nearly 1.6 million newsletters sent per month and some that feature as many as 20 ad units. With such a high volume of emails sent, it was crucial for those in control of AOPA’s various publications and advertising efforts to find a solution that made the process of email monetization much more efficient. They needed a product that offered not only the flexibility to serve different ads based on subscriber information but also improve the ad upload process.
